Air Fryer Bacon (Crispy, Fast)


Bacon! Bacon! Calling all bacon fans. Bacon is a breakfast food, snack and can add a delicious crunch to a meal. Air fryer bacon is fast, delicious and crispy. This will be your favorite way to make bacon.

How to Cook Air Fryer Bacon:

  1. Remove tray or basket from the air fryer.
  2. Lay slices or strips of bacon in the tray or basket in a single layer. Note: bacon strips can be touching but should not overlap.
  3. Place tray or basket back into the air fryer.
  4. Set air fryer to 350 degrees F for 9 minutes.
  5. After 9 minutes check bacon to see if they are at desired level of crisp. If not, air fry for an additional minute then repeat until your get your desired goal.
  6. Remove bacon with tongs carefully onto a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess grease.

  • This recipe does not require preheating.
  • No need to shake or turn bacon during cooking.
  • If you are doing more than one batch then the second batch may cook faster. The air fryer will be warm or preheated and may not require the same amount of time.
  • Discard excess bacon grease in the drip pan between batches.
  • Cooking time may vary based on air fryer model and manufacture. This recipe uses the Cuisinart Digital Airfryer Toaster Oven.
  • Cooking time may vary based on cut of bacon, thick versus thinner cuts.


Why Should You Cook Bacon
in the Air Fryer?

Bacon is so easy to make in the air fryer. This is one of those times you can set it and forget it. Unlike a traditional oven, air fryer bacon requires no preheating. Bacon on the stove requires constant monitoring and flipping/turning the bacon to ensure even cooking. Bacon in the air fryer is crispy and cooks evenly. Not only are you getting the best tasting bacon from the air fryer but you are getting bacon faster then the stove or oven. Not to mention clean up in the air fryer is easier then the stove or oven.

What Type of Bacon Should I Use in the Air Fryer?

All bacon works in the air fryer. Varieties of bacon include turkey or pork. There are also options to meet dietary needs like organic and uncured.

Uncured bacon is not treated with synthetic nitrates or nitrites. Nitrates can be found in processed meats as a preservative to prevent bacterial growth and to give meat a pink color. There are health concerns related to increase nitrate consumption. However, uncured bacon may have a shorter shelf life.
