Air Fryer Cinnamon Rolls (Quick, Easy using Pillsbury)


Who can resist sweet and decadent warm swirls of cinnamon with a creamy gooey icing? I couldn’t. The air fryer is perfect for taking a prepackaged prepared food like cinnamon rolls and turning it into a morning pastry or magical treat for your family.

But here is the thing, do not follow the directions on the back of the Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls package. I can appreciate more companies providing air fryer directions but they have to work. I followed the directions listed and was left with over toasted, burnt cinnamon rolls. I have perfected this recipe and found the perfect time and temperature for perfect crisp, chewy and golden rolls.


How to you make air fryer cinnamon rolls?

  1. Open the package of cinnamon rolls and set aside the icing container.
  2. Lightly spray the basket or tray with olive oil. This is optional.
  3. Add the cinnamon rolls to the basket or tray leaving space between each roll so they are not touching.
  4. Set the air fryer to the air fry setting for 325 degrees F for 6 minutes.
  5. After 6 minutes flip the cinnamon rolls and continue to cook at 325 degrees for 2 minutes.
  6. Once the timer goes off, check the cinnamon rolls to make sure you have the desired level of cooking. If the desired level of cooking is not achieved then add an additional minute of cooking. Repeat this process until desired level of cooking is achieved.
  7. Once the cinnamon rolls are done, carefully remove cinnamon rolls with tongs and transfer on a plate or cutting board.
  8. Drizzle icing over cinnamon rolls or spread icing on top of each cinnamon roll using the back of a spoon or butter knife.
  9. Serve cinnamon rolls warm.


Should you bake cinnamon rolls?

The air fryer took much less time to cook then baking cinnamon rolls. Air fryer cinnamon rolls only took 8 minutes while baking cinnamon rolls takes 13 to 17 minutes. The air fryer cinnamon rolls have a nicer texture then baked cinnamon rolls and come out delicious!
