Crispy Air Fryer Brussels Sprouts (Fast, Easy)


Air fryer Brussels sprouts are a delicious vegetable side dish or a snack. I never craved Brussels sprouts until I started making them in the air fryer. I can say that I LOVE vegetables now. Air fryer Brussels sprouts will leave you with a crisp, crunchy outside and a tender inside in less than 15 minutes. You will become addicted.

How to Make Air Fryer Brussels Sprouts:

  1. First prepare Brussels sprouts. Cut the stem off of each Brussels sprout. Then cut Brussels sprouts so that they are uniform or similar in size. This may require cutting Brussels sprouts in half or fourths and not cutting small Brussels sprouts.
  2. Remove and toss outer layer of Brussels sprouts.
  3. Transfer Brussels sprouts to a mixing bowl.
  4. Toss with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, 1 tablespoon of balsamic vinegar and season with salt, pepper and garlic powder . Kinder’s makes the perfect salt, pepper and garlic blend or feel free to add salt, pepper and garlic powder separately.
  5. Mix so that each Brussels sprout is coated with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, pepper and garlic powder.
  6. Place Brussels sprouts in a single layer on the air fryer basket or tray.
  7. Air fry for 400 degrees F for a total of 12 minutes shaking the basket or tray halfway through the cooking process. After 12 minutes check Brussels sprouts if they are at desired level of crisp. If not, air fry for an additional minute then repeat until your desired goal.
  8. Remove Brussels sprout carefully and serve warm.

Tips on Cooking Air Fryer Brussels Sprouts:

  • Brussels sprouts come in various sizes. Brussels sprouts should be cut so that they are uniform or similar sizes to help ensure even cooking times.
  • Do not overcrowd the basket or tray. Place Brussels sprouts in a single layer.
  • For Brussels sprouts that are more tender soak Brussels sprouts in water for 10 minutes, This should be done after step 2 above then continue to follow directions as listed above.
  • Shake air fryer basket or tray half way through the cooking process.
  • If you are doing more than one batch then the second batch may cook faster. The air fryer will be warm or preheated and may not require the same amount of time.
  • Cooking temperature and time may vary based on air fryer model and manufacture. This recipe uses the Cuisinart Digital Airfryer Toaster Oven.

Is it Brussels Sprouts or Brussel Sprout?

I way saying it wrong! It is Brussels sprouts not Brussel sprouts. Even if you only have one sprout it is called Brussels sprout. The “B” should be capitalized. The vegetable is named after the capital of Belgium, Brussels.

What Can I Add to Brussels Sprouts?

  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Garlic
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Red pepper flakes
  • Crumble bacon on top of finished Brussels Sprouts
  • Drizzle honey on top
  • Drizzle or toss with balsamic vinegar
  • Drizzle with sweet chili sauce
